State Leaders Propose $1k Employee Bonuses

(Atlanta, GA) -- A plan is on the table to give out thousand-dollar bonuses to many state employees. House Speaker David Ralston outlined a budget proposal yesterday which would award the bonuses to around 57-thousand full-time state employees who earn less than 80-thousand-dollars a year. University System of Georgia employees aren't included because their financial decisions are handled through the Board of Regents. Governor Brian Kemp said state workers have been going above and beyond the call of duty during the pandemic.
