Schiff: Inexplicable Why Trump Sitting On Russia Sanctions

Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff says the Obama administration should have done more to combat Russian meddling in the 2016 election but says that's no excuse for President Trump to "sit on his hands."  While appearing on CNN's "State of the Union," Schiff said it's inexplicable why Trump refuses to put sanctions on Russia that Congress wants to enforce.  He points to the recent indictments of more than a dozen Russians for interfering the 2016 election that shows just how elaborate the Kremlin's effort was to sway the election.  He said that although the indictments don't show evidence of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, it doesn't mean the case is closed on potential collusion.

Schiff also spoke on the recent shooting in South Florida at a high school, saying Congress needs to take on the gun control issue.  He said something needs to be done about the threat of having so many high-powered weapons available to mentally ill people.

The Democrat said Congress needs to stare down the NRA and do the right thing.
