Homeless Woman Steals Then Crashes Car With Toddler Inside

A 52-year-old homeless woman has been charged with kidnapping, reckless endangerment and grand larceny after she allegedly stole a car with a toddler in the backseat in Brooklyn, New York over the weekend. Police say the child's mother left the two-year-old in the back seat of her Honda Accord while she went inside a store to get some food. The mother reportedly left the door open and the keys inside the vehicle.

While the mother was inside the store, Adrea Aronald jumped into the car and sped away. She did not make it very far, striking a 36-year-old man on a bicycle and crashing into other cars about one block from where she stole the car. The woman tried to run from the crash, but she was stopped by people nearby and held until police arrived.

Luckily, the young baby was unharmed in the crash. Both the toddler and the man on the bike were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
