Playoff Basketball Game Ends With Fans From Both Teams Storming The Court

The Minnesota Class 2A sectional final high school basketball game between Melrose High School and Albany High School ended in dramatic fashion. With just 2.3 seconds left, Albany was down by one point and inbounded the ball.

Andrew Hahn took the pass and put up a last second shot which went in, giving Albany the win... or so they thought. As fans stormed the court in celebration, the referees huddled together and reviewed the shot. They determined that Hahn had not released the ball when time expired. The refs took the points off the board, giving Melrose a 52-51 in the championship game.

When Melrose fans heard the news, they erupted into a raucous celebration, storming the court just as Albany fans had moments before.
