Man Streams Video Of Himself Drinking Behind The Wheel Before Fatal Crash

A Texas man has been charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter after crashing into the back of a pickup truck while drunk. Moments before the horrific crash, Camilo Morejon, 47, boasted about his drunk driving skills while drinking a beer behind the wheel.

In a video streamed on Facebook, Morejon can be seen cruising down a Texas highway while drinking from a bottle of Corona. At one point, Morejon says in Spanish: "I drive better when I drink."

Moments later, Morejon slammed his silver Honda into a black pickup truck, killing the three passengers in his car, including his girlfriend. The video was timestamped at 7:47 a.m. local time, and the crash occurred at 7:53 a.m.

"It's very rare that we see actions of the defendant that close in time to a horrific crash like that, but it's what happens, it's what goes on moments before lives are lost," Harris County prosecutor Sean Teare told KPRC.

Morejon and the driver of the pickup truck both survived the crash and remain hospitalized with serious injuries.

In addition to the three manslaughter charges, Morejon was also charged with one count of intoxication assault. Officials said that if the driver of the pickup truck does not survive, the charge will be upgraded.
